Plutarch's Lives (in 5 volumes) by Dryden (edited by A. H. Clough) is priced to sell at $100.00.

These five volumes are the 1902 Oxford Edition, which was copyrighted in 1859 by Little, Brown, and Co. All five volumes are combined on one  CD, or DVD, and therefore all 5 volumes can be searched at one time. They contain the footnotes and appendixes which were omitted in the 2001 Modern Library Paperback edition. These five volumes contain a total of 2546 pages, all of which are searchable at one time.

D. M. Bennett, in his World's Sages, Thinkers, and Reformers, reports that "The learned Theodorus Gaza was not so very extravagant when, being asked by a friend "if learning must suffer a general shipwreck, and he had only his choice of one author to be preserved, who that author should be?"  He answered, "Plutarch."

D. M. Bennett, as cited above, goes on to report that “And M.
